With the expansion of our fleet in recent times, Tropicair Management saw the need to maintain their own aircraft, in their own Maintenance Facility, within PNG. Eighteen months ago Tropicair was granted their Maintenance Operator’s Certificate (MOC Part145) by CASA PNG. More recently, the license was extended to include third party aircraft maintenance checks for other small General Aviation Companies operating in PNG.
Owned and operated by Tropicair Limited, this service commenced formal operations under the Medicair brand in April, 2014.
Although Tropicair has been operating an air ambulance service for many years the CEO Tony Honey, decided to expand from an air ambulance provider to an aero-medical provider offering a complete medical/air ambulance service. This service is intended not only for the corporate sector, but to many of the local communities throughout Papua New Guinea who wouldn’t normally have access to this type of service.
